Notes from the North

August 18th, 2007 Kugluktuk, NU

It has been a great trip so far, and I’m enjoying my return to the Arctic. Flying down south just doesn’t compare to the adventure of traveling in these remote communities. Flying over this beautiful rugged terrain is an amazing experience.

I have enjoyed having the opportunity to spend some time exploring the different communities and talking to the friendly people. I will never forget the day we spent hiking Mt. Pelly and watching Musk Ox on the Tundra.

The Arctic is a special place. Once you have come up here it seems to draw you back. From what we have seen and heard on our trip it is clear that the Arctic Climate is changing. I just hope we, as a planet can work together to stop global warming. Future generations deserve to enjoy the Arctic as I have.
